Walnut Hollow Ranch uses artificial insemination (AI) breeding techniques. Balanced expected progeny differences (EPDs) are an important tool
for bull selection. This allows us to choose the top bulls in the country, known for carcass traits such as marbling.
Walnut Hollow Ranch breeds specifically for beef genetics. In addition, these AI bulls have been tested negative for many cattle diseases.
Angus genetics produce a well marbled product and cross-breeding with Simmental genetics complimenting the Angus carcass traits. Our AI
breeding program commences in December and runs through February for a fall calving season.
